Greetings!
Now that we're in the groove of the 2012-2013 academic year, several students have expressed an interest in accessing the notes from class. All of my notes this year will be presented through a shared folder on my MyPolkApps account (click HERE for more info on this great service available to ALL Polk county students).
The same link will be available all year. The same link will be consistently updated as notes are presented in class.

WELCOME!
PROCEDURES
We will be reviewing class procedures this week and begin
technical instructional next week. This class is VERY challenging and my expectations
are VERY high. That might sound intimidating, but we will work together to
accomplish much this year. I look forward to helping all students reach high
levels of academic achievement this year!

ALL NOTES AVAILABLE ONLINE
This year, all notes will be available through Google docs.
Here is the link:https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B6ydDgttCew0LUkzTnN3THdtVXc/edit
The same link will be good ALL YEAR. I recommend that you
BOOKMARK the page, as the URL is a bit long and complicated. The link can be
used when students are absent, to look ahead, or to print notes that may have
been missed in class.

e-MAS t-Shirts
Greetings! I'm proud to announce that the ITV department of CLMS and academies will be selling its first ever, student e-MAS t-shirt. The design was completed by a current student. Production should begin this week with pre-orders going on next week. Delivery should be the week after that. Below is the original student sketch. The design will be white art on a black t-shirt.

ITV Update: Shifting Gears
Now that most classes have covered many of the basic production skills needed to produce a dynamic daily news show, we're shifting our focus to the writing and research that needs to go into such a production. In previous years, our student staff was overflowing with extremely creative students, but a bit short on students with technical aptitude. I'm extremely excited that this year's mix of students has displayed extreme aptitude regarding Final Cut Pro, Motion, and other software programs we've covered. This affords our program the opportunity to make a substantial leap forward in quality by focusing on the writing and research side of daily news production.
What does this mean for you?
Students: Expect more paper/pencil assignments dealing with various writing topics (yes, this will feel like "regular" school work).
Parents: Expect to see more homework from our class, as this is work students CAN do from home. Up until this point, we've been dealing with specialized software programs which very few, if any, students have access to at home.
e-MAS viewers: Expect to see a drastic increase in the quality of the news show.

COOKIE DOUGH DELIVERY!
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the cookie dough fundraiser. It looks like our profits will be approximately $1400 dollars. This will go a long way towards equipment and prop purchases.
The cookie dough will be delivered on WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 7 near noon. This is an early release day so please plan accordingly. The product can remain in an air conditioned room for up to 6 hours so that should be plenty of time to get it home.
I'll also be sending a note home with students.
